The committee of Prince Talal International Prize holds an online meeting to announce the one million dollars winners

 

AGFUND (the Arab Gulf Programme for Development) has made preparations to hold a meeting of the committee of Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development on the 21 st of April, 2020 chaired by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal, the head of the prize committee and chairman of the Arab Council of Childhood and Development.

In this online meeting, held by AGFUND’s Center in Riyadh, the winners of Prince Talal International Prize for 2019 on the theme of “Clean Water and Sanitation” will be approved and announced.

AGFUND has reported that there are 82 nominations made by different organizations, associations, governments, and individuals and submitted from different parts of the world to compete for Prince Talal International Prize, which is worth a million dollars.

The prize is classified into four categories. The first category involves the nominations of the regional, international, and UN organizations. The second category is for the nominations of the national non-governmental associations. The third category is for the nominations of the governments and social foundations. The fourth one is for the nominations of the individuals.

The prize committee involves members representative of the continents of the world. The members are Dr. Ahmed Muhammed Ali, the former president of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Queen Sophia, the CEO of Queen Sofia Foundation, Mrs. Mercedes Minavra, the honorary president of Todos por Uruguay, Dr. Yusuf Sayed Abdullah, the former director of the OPEC Fund for International Development, and Dr. Muhammed Yunus, the founder of Gramin Bank. It is worth mentioning that the nominations in each of the four categories of the prize are evaluated by a number of independent experts before the meeting of the prize committee is held in which the winning project in each category is approved and announced.
