AGFUND and UNICEF Strengthen Partnership to Advance Early Childhood Development in the GCC and Morocco

The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) and UNICEF have signed two new agreements to enhance early childhood development (ECD) across the GCC region and Morocco, marking another milestone in their four-decade partnership to improve the lives of children globally.

The first project, "Improved Support for Children with Disabilities in the Early Years in the GCC and the Middle East," aims to enhance access to quality early childhood education and care for children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support for their growth and development.

The second project, "Improved Early Childhood Services for Children in Morocco (Phase Two)," focuses on strengthening daycare services, enhancing preschool education, and implementing social behavior change communication strategies to promote early childhood well-being.

The agreements were signed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of AGFUND's Board of Directors and Her Excellency Ms. Catherine Russell, the Executive Director of UNICEF. The AGFUND UNICEF partnership is a model of global cooperation that has produced tangible results for vulnerable children and families. Investing in early childhood is an investment in the future prosperity of societies as a whole, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

UNICEF and AGFUND continue to build on their strong collaboration for over four decades, which has resulted in more than 100 joint projects worldwide, providing critical support in health, education, and child protection. These newly signed agreements reaffirm both organizations’ dedication to creating sustainable solutions that empower children and their communities for generations to come.
