Postponing the Award Ceremony of AGFUND International Prize for This Year

His Royal Highness, Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, President of the Arab Gulf Program for Development “AGFUND”, declared that in view of the current circumstances in Egypt, where preparations are going on for the elections to be conducted in the coming period, it has been decided that the Twelfth Award Ceremony of AGFUND International Prize for Pioneering Human Development Projects for the year 2011 shall be postponed. The ceremony was scheduled to be held in Egypt before the end of this year. It is worth mentioning that the preparation for the Award Ceremony requires intensive contacts with the concerned bodies in the hosting country while the current situation in Egypt and the Arab region may not be apt for organizing the Ceremony in the manner intended and in the way that contributes to its success and achievement of its developmental objectives. AGFUND will be coordinating with the concerned parties to set another date where the circumstances would be more convenient for guaranteeing successful organization of this important developmental event.
