Prince Talal announces Moudi Al Hamoud Rector of the Arab Open University for the second time
Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz- Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University – has issued his decision of appointing Dr. MoudiAbdulaziz Al Hamoud to be the university rector. This decision came in appreciation of her scientific and practical expertise, in addition to the administrative and leadership abilities that she enjoys. The appointment of Dr. Moudi was agreed upon by the University Board of Trustees (formed of Arab elites) which has all confirmed that “Dr. Moudi’s cumulative experiences as well as her previous knowledge of the Arab Open University shall perfectly enhance the journey of the university and empower it of achieving the sublime objectives for which it had originally been founded”. It is definitely worth mentioning that Dr. Moudi Al Hamoud (a Kuwaiti) has occupied the position of the Rector of the Arab Open University during the period of (June 2004 – 2008) where she was a Minister in the Kuwaiti government. Dr. Moudi had additionally occupied various positions, the most prominent among which were: Minister of Education and Higher Education, Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Administrative Development, qualified expert at the Commercial Arbitration Center – Gulf Cooperation Council, Member of the Higher Council for Planning and Development and Dean of the Collage of Commerce, Kuwaiti University. The Arab Open University, Based in Kuwait, has another seven branches in each of Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Lebanon, Egypt and Kuwait. It is noteworthy that the University is intending to launch another two branches in each of Yemen and Palestine. The university caters for a total of more than (30) thousand male and female students.
