(AGFUND) Project for Early Childhood Development rated “highly effective”

The Early Childhood Development Project, led by the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) has obtained new success . Dubai Center was established in 1993 with support from AGFUND, and as a result to characterize its activity was chosen in 2011 to be the second regional center for training of trainers from other countries, same as the Early Childhood Development Center and developed in Egypt. The early childhood development is a priority strategic project developed in parallel with fighting poverty. AGFUND executes early childhood development in 11 Arab countries, namely Saudi Arabia (which started the project 1989), and Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Syria. The excellence achieved by the Dubai responsive to the aspirations of AGFUND to promote quality projects in childhood in the Arab region, and in this framework Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, President (AGFUND), and Anthony Lake, Executive Director of the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF) has signed an agreement in April 2013 to build a coalition to establish a regional center of excellence in the field of early childhood development under the umbrella of the Arab Open University (which has a branch in 7 Arab countries). AGFUND has certain requirements and necessary conditions to implement The Early Childhood Development Project, the requirements fall within the AGFUND System for early childhood development, namely: developing a national strategy at the level of each state to develop early childhood, and adoption of new curriculum for kindergarten, and the training of kindergarten teachers and supervisors, and processing training centers needed to do so.
