“AGFUND” Approved Projects for Rehabilitation of Youth , Early Childhood & Microfinance
The Arab Gulf Programme for Development “AGFUND” Approved to finance 10 developmental projects. The new projects focus on rehabilitation of youth, early childhood development, and promotion of microfinance to combat poverty. The Board of Directors held its meeting in Riyadh, on Sunday, June 1st, 2014, and the meeting chaired, on behalf of HR H Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of “AGFUND,” by HE Engineer Yousef Ibrahim Al-Bassam, Vice President, delegate of Saudi Arabia to the (AGFUND), Director-General of the Saudi Fund for Development. The Council was informed at the meeting on the summary of the achievements of AGFUND during the first half of 2014, then discussed the projects submitted for support and funding. The Council adopted 10 developmental projects covering areas of : rehabilitation of the youth and empowering them with the necessary skills for the job labor market, early childhood development, fighting poverty and the promotion of microfinance, health, education, and protection of children. The adopted projects are related to the UN agencies and international, regional organizations ,and Arab civil .. The countries benefiting from these projects are: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Kuwait, Yemen, Lebanon, Djibouti … Besides, the Board of Directors approved the financial statements for 2013, and the audit report.
