The Step Program is an extension of the Productive Families Project fostered by the Ministry of Social Development through the development of new productive families, advanced training programs, marketing Centres, and project supportive Centres.
The kingdom of Bahrain has a long history in the field of handicrafts and crafts. Therefore, the productive families’ project is based on the diverse base of traditional and modern products as well.
The aim of the Bahraini productive families’ project is to support the development of these households projects through training and funding appropriate and specialized services such as marketing, management, and provision of production units (Kitchen productive, industrial sewing, and the production of porcelain), as well as providing a unit for design and innovation to product development, and unit of information technology to support external marketing and a number of sales centers and permanent exhibitions in the provinces, as the project aims to give the official version of these projects and insure the care and participation of all governmental and non-governmental and private sectors. The project opens opportunities to attract young people and the unemployed Bahraini women wishing to economic empowerment and raising family income.
